About Paw & Order: Personalized Care for Every Pet

Hi! I’m Rachel Locklear, owner of Paw & Order LLC — a wife, mom of two wonderful daughters, and a lifelong animal lover. Growing up in a military family taught me adaptability, patience, and responsibility. Years of homeschooling both of my girls taught me how to connect with all kinds of personalities — whether they walk, hop, slither, or crawl.Through the years, I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, small farm animals, and even insects — each one fascinating in its own way. I’ve also volunteered with local rescues, helping care for and socialize animals that need extra patience and understanding. Every species has its own way of expressing trust, and I love taking the time to understand those differences so each pet feels calm, comfortable, and safe. That connection grew into Paw & Order LLC — a service built on compassionate, dependable care for pets of all kinds. Whether it’s a shy cat, a senior dog, or a small flock of backyard chickens, I tailor every visit to your pet’s needs and routine so they always feel secure and understood.I’m licensed, bonded, and insured, and I approach every visit with care, respect, and consistency. My goal is simple: to make your pets feel loved, your home well cared for, and your mind completely at peace.

Frequently Asked Questions & Policies

Client Agreement & Emergency Authorization
All new clients are required to sign a service contract before their first booking. This agreement ensures mutual understanding of care expectations, safety procedures, and policies. Clients must also keep a valid payment method on file for cancelations and incidentals, and emergency situations.
For the safety of your pets, you’ll also grant vet access authorization so that I can seek medical care in the event of an emergency.
Meet & Greet (Mandatory)
A meet and greet is also required for all new clients before their first booking. This complimentary visit ensures your pets are comfortable with me, I understand their routines, and we verify access details in person. We’ll review care instructions, safety info, and any special needs before services begin.
Payments
Invoices and payments are handled securely through Time To Pet. To keep scheduling fair, payment is due on the same timeline as cancellations:
• 24 hours before standard visits or walks
• 72 hours before overnights or constant care
A deposit may be required for longer or holiday reservations. All payments must be completed before services begin.
Cancellations
Please provide:
• 24 hours’ notice for standard visits or walks
• 72 hours’ notice for overnights or constant care
Late cancellations may be billed up to the full service fee, depending on timing.
Keys & Home Access
Clients may provide a key, lockbox, or door code for entry. Please ensure:
• Your key is either in my possession or in the agreed-upon location before the first visit.
• All codes are sent at least 24 hours in advance and verified to be current.
• Electronic locks are fully charged—especially before longer trips.
If I cannot access the home due to a missing key, outdated code, or dead battery, the full visit fee still applies.
Weather & Safety
Walks and outdoor time may be adjusted during extreme heat, storms, or icy conditions. Indoor enrichment/cuddles will be provided as a safe alternative. Trail hikes can be rescheduled at no charge when weather is unsafe.
Emergency Protocol
Your pet’s safety always comes first. In an illness, injury, or emergency, I will:
1) Contact you immediately, then your emergency contact.
2) Seek veterinary care with your prior permission to act on your behalf.
3) Follow your written instructions or your veterinarian’s recommendations.
Clients are responsible for veterinary costs unless the issue was caused by my negligence. I am licensed, bonded, and insured, with coverage that includes accidental injury, property damage, theft, and key loss while under my care.
Communication
You’ll receive detailed updates and photos through the Time To Pet portal. Messages are typically answered between 9am–7pm (urgent situations are prioritized). Preferences for fewer updates or a specific format are welcome.
Business Hours
Standard service hours are 6am–9pm, seven days a week. After-hours visits (before 6am or after 9pm) are available for a +25% fee.
Camera Disclosure Policy
Cameras and security systems are welcome for transparency, but all cameras must be disclosed—especially for overnights. Hidden or undisclosed cameras will result in immediate cancellation of services and termination of the client relationship. Bedroom and bathroom areas must remain private and camera-free during overnight care.
Special Needs & Unusual Pets
I’m experienced with senior, special-needs, reactive, and shy pets, as well as dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, small mammals, and small farm animals. Upfront disclosure is essential: please share any medical conditions, behavioral challenges, or safety concerns during the meet and greet so I can tailor care and keep everyone safe. Non-disclosure of known issues may result in immediate termination of services.
Booking in Advance
To guarantee your spot I recommend:
• At least one week in advance for regular visits
• Two to three weeks in advance for overnights or constant care
Holiday dates fill quickly—early scheduling helps ensure availability.
What to Expect from Your VisitEach pet and household is unique, but here’s a general idea of what every service includes so you know what to expect:Drop-In Visits
Your visit begins when I arrive and ends when I return to my car. I’ll greet your pets, refresh water, handle feeding if needed, provide potty breaks, and spend the remaining time focused on play, cuddles, or enrichment based on their comfort and energy. If requested, we can also go on a walk during this time. You’ll receive a detailed summary with photos after each visit through Time To Pet.
Full-Day Care
Ideal for pets that need companionship throughout the day. This covers up to eight hours between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. and includes meals, walks, playtime, and downtime that mirrors their usual routine. You’ll receive updates during the day and a wrap-up message when I leave.
Overnight Care
Includes evening and morning care, along with daytime check-ins as needed. I’ll maintain your pet’s regular nighttime routine—feeding, medication, and comfort—so everything feels familiar. I can also handle small household tasks like bringing in mail or adjusting lights if requested.
Constant Care
Designed for pets who need near-continuous attention or medical supervision. This service covers up to 24 consecutive hours of care and can include overnight stays, regular walks, feedings, medications, and close monitoring. Because each pet’s needs are unique, pricing starts at $140 and may vary depending on the level of care required.
Pet Taxi
Safe, reliable transportation for vet visits, grooming appointments, or other short trips. All pets are securely buckled in — medium and large dogs ride in the back seat with protective harnesses, while small dogs are placed in a lifted basket in the front seat and buckled in for safety. Travel is stress-free, comfortable, and tailored to your pet’s needs.
Preparing for Your First Visit
Before the first official visit, please:
• Label and set out food, treats, and medications
• Place leashes/harnesses or carriers where they’re easy to find
• Update vet info and emergency contacts in Time To Pet
• Ensure keys/codes are ready and verified
• Save your pet’s routine, feeding details, and special notes in the app
No matter the service, your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness always come first.
